Hello

I'm kinda confused about the amount of RAM supported on the X99 platform, some motherboards support 128GB, the i7 64 and yes the Xeons more.

But my question is then how is THIS possible? And can we expect the same thing with X99 and Haswell-e?

Will Intel increase max RAM on Haswell-e when 16GB sticks of DDR4 becomes available?

Oh that's what I'm supposed to look at. The 4960x only supports 64GB according to Intel ARK.

The RAM compatibility is there, but the DIMMS are not on DDR4. Wait a while and it will be here.

128GB DDR3 is possible through the use of ECC DIMMS.

When DDR4 becomes more popular, they will start making 32GB kits and higher, just give it time bro.

I am giving it time, just thinking ahead :)

Yes, i get that more than 64gb is possible with Xeons. What i don't understand is this magical official BIOS update,

that enables Asus X79 motherboards to have 128gb (non ECC) RAM with an i7-4960X (not a Xeon)

That u can find here:

Is this true, has anybody tried it?
