Best laptop?
I have the GS60 Ghost Pro so I'm a bit biased but my sister has the 13" retina MBP. I've seen both machines work well for content creation. She's a graphic design student and I do short documentaries and tons of photos. Get yourself well acquainted with the Adobe ecosystem for content creation and the OS doesn't matter, it's insanely powerful no matter which you choose. The whole "Macs are better for content creation" thing is nonsense except for Mac-specific applications (music production, for example, has a lot of Mac specific applications).I was thinking of the MacBook Pro because then I could also edit and make content off of it. But I could also get a Windows laptop and get Adobe Premiere, and the works. What do you guys think of Mac vs Windows for content creation for beginners? One more thing, I did look at the game selection for Mac and it does seem to be lacking, also all the games I already have purchased on Steam for Windows wouldn't be accessable.
Just know you get more performance per dollar with a PC that has dedicated graphics and CUDA acceleration vs. a mbp with just integrated (though iris pro) graphics. If you're going to get into color work having a good GPU is essential. And PC's have upgradeability in the memory and storage departments severely lacking in Macs at the moment. If you have a lot of Windows games purchased, I would factor that into the cost of getting a Mac as well.
