So Ive thought about doing this before but it never really came to anything, thing is I've suddenly got the guts enough to unleash my CPUs full overclocking potential and actually, it seams to be a pretty good overclocker, alas however I'm using some pretty naff cooling, its an ancient Corsair H80 which has only one fan attached to it, even at stock my CPU runs pretty toasty, (around 70 degrees C) running at 4.6Ghz I was getting temperatures of around 98.

So I figured now would be the time to dive into watercooling, try and sort this out and see if I can get a bit more speed out the CPU and a bit better cooling, thing is I've no idea where to start with Watercooling, I like the new Swiftech blocks with the LEDs in them, but Ive no idea how functional they are or what I should couple it with, my PC is in a Corsair 600T case and I'd like to initially watercool only my CPU however I would like expandability to include graphics cards should future upgrades be watercooling capable.

Any ideas what sort of setup I should be looking at?

Well if you want to expand, I wouldn't recomend going with the AIO solutions, read up on the parts and find the blocks, tubes, and fittings that you like from the different brands, double check they work with each other, and then buy them.

I'm not going with an all in one, I want to custom build, thats what I'm asking for here is advise on exactly what I should get for a decent first loop.

Well obvisouly (or not) you should get a block for your AMD/intel chip, you need to decide what dimensions your tubing and fittings will be. Just had a quick look at your case, and you should be able to put two double rads in that baby (correct me if I'm wrong). One double rad would probably be more than good enough to cool your CPU, but I would add another rad if you put your GPU into the loop too.

Watercooling companys

- Primochill

- XSPC

- Swiftech

- Koolance

- EK

you should look around, and find the parts that you want in your build.

That's a good start.

I would watch Bill Owen and Jayztwocents on youtube.com videos for water cooling. If you need any help or explanation feel free to pm me and I will get back to you.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Um..okay your wrong. :P  Here it plainly states that only a 240 mm radiator will fit up top. Now if you wanted to go modding your case and drilling holes sure you can fit more then two radiators in there.

Any custom loop will be expandable. You do know that custom loops are expensive right? $450+ for a CPU loop, $650+ for a GPU + CPU loop.

It looks like the 600T can have a thin 240 or 360 rad in the top. 360 only if you're not using the 5.25" bays for something else. You could start with an Alphacool 240 or 360 ST30 in the top for the CPU. Primochill Advanced LRT tubing 3/8 5/8, some compression fittings of the same size, a good D5 pump coupled with a EK res/pump top combo.

When you added the GPU, you can add another 240 ST30 or XT45 in the front. OR get a 200mm Phobya Xtreme.
