R9 285

Go to solution Solved by typographie,

Will the release of R9 285 drop the price of r9 290?

It could force a price drop of the GTX 760 if its performance is close enough, but it won't be comparable with the 290 at all. The 290 is already quite well priced against its own competition.

Will the release of R9 285 drop the price of r9 290?

No. Why would it?

I don't see why it should...

i'm counting on a price drop.

no. it repaces the 280 . there still is 280X after

The R9 290 is already going under £280 anyway so it's really good value as it stands

The r9 290 in my country is pretty overpriced... D: its around 520USD

Since it is supposed to replace the R9 280, will that increase the price of existing 280s since it will be discontinued?

AKA I should buy a 280 right fucking now or will it see a price drop?

If you're buying a card in this price range now, I'd say at least wait and see what happens. I doubt anything will go up in price.

I don't usually like to recommend people wait for new tech, but this release is official and imminent.
