Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to update the firmware on my SSD without having to re install windows and other programs.

I'm currently experiencing some random freeze ups and I thought it may have been the ssd.

I know that you need to create an iso image on a usb for it and boot in the usb, i just don't want to go through the hassle of installing everything again. is this possible or should i just not bother with it (does the firmware make much difference anyway).

Thanks for reading.

It usually is, but typically you'll want to make a backup as most manufacturers will not guarantee that it will work. There's always a chance it will cause problems. I think I did it on an old OCZ vertex drive without any problem though.
