what kind of mobo and cpu would need for a gaming/workstation pc like mid range gaming and stuff like office and video editing? anybody?

If you've got enough money then maybe get a i7 4790k for the hyperthreading, that will help if you plan to do video editing; far from necessary though if you only plan to do a bit, you'd be better of saving the money in that case.
