ios 7.1.1 jailbreak?

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

Yes, it is possible.

I made a guide about this a little while back, it works well.

Why would you jailbreak? Buy an Android phone if you care about that level of customization.

I don't necessarily see how the answer to this question would actually benefit OP in any way, so why ask besides curiosity?

Because it's a violation of the EULA that voids your warranty and ends your support contract?

I would think that's useful to know. It's one of the many reasons not to jailbreak.

It only voids your warranty and ends your support contract if Apple find out, which while capable through software, is only really ever brought up when an Apple Genius is physically inspecting the device.

Also, I do in fact say this in the guide that I posted, so that's covered. And Android devices still have limited customization, even if it is marginally more customizable than an Apple device. To do deeper stuff in terms of the entire UI, you will still have to root and install a custom ROM to an Android device, something of which has similar consequences.

No. It voids your warranty either way. Whether or not they realize your warranty is voided is a different matter. Jailbreaks can be detected fairly easily.

I realize Android isn't that much more customizable, but jailbreaking hampers you so badly in so many ways. It's honestly not worth it.

Nexus devices can be rooted with no impact on the warranty or support from google, and downloading the original ROM is just a click away.

Regarding customization I'm not sure how you consider iOS on the same level of customization as Android .. Sure you do have nice launchers, nice gadgets, but Android offers access to absolutely everything on a rooted phone. You can remove the useless garbage apps that come standard with the phone and make it run much quicker (even remove Google Apps and install apps by yourself or from a 3rd party vendor), create your own personalised gadgets, update / personalise the menu buttons and even the lighting to indicate specific events and so on ..
