Whenever I use an application that demands a lot of work from my graphics card, my computer starts making a squealing noise. It's especially noticeable when I turn up the volume on my speakers, but I can still hear it from my computer when it's turned off.

My graphics card is a GTX 760. When I use Folding At Home on full, it folds about 30k. This is ridiculous, since it should easily be folding 60k. My CPU, i5 4670 also folds poorly compared to its maximum potential. It should be folding at 14k on maximum, but it goes between 5k and 12k.

This leads me to believe that it might be the power supply. I have a non-modular Corsair CX 750W. I heard that the CX series is Corsair's lowest quality of power supplies.

It also makes a squealing noise when I play Battlefield 3 and Watch Dogs. When I play a less demanding game like GTA IV, it doesn't make any squealing noise, even with maximum settings. I could do some benchmarks. I'm guessing the frame rate will be a lot lower than it should be.

I've laid out the facts pretty well now. Does anyone know what the problem could be? My PSU? My GPU? Both?

With no doubt it's coil whine. It happens to me too, you learn to deal with it since it can't be fixed.

even with a new GPU

you may get the same sound

i say keep what you got

you should be worried if the GPU temps goes up suddenly

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
