Hey everyone,

I am having a really bad week. My laptop motherboard got fried a bit back. While I am getting it fixed, my friend gave me his old laptop so I can do school work. The only problem is it's an utter piece of crap that doesn't work. Today it started taking literally hours to turn on.Now,it straight up is not working. I attached a pic of what the laptop is showing me.Also, the fan has been revving nonstop at an unbearable noise level. Can anyone help me? The laptop is running Linux mint

Edit, I have to write this on my crappy phone so it may take a long time to respond. Sorry in advance

Does he really care what you do with the laptop? Imo you should format it, install windows, and use it like that. If he does care what you do with it clone it to an external, format, install windows, then when he wants it back put linux back on it. It would probably be more stable
