Self Hosting Domain Question.

ChaoticWolf

I'm creating a website for work and they want to host it themselves with their existing Windows Server. I'm thinking about using WordPress, as it is simple, quick and there is not a lot of data that will be on the site, just information. I'm quite sure I can set up and install WordPress and other necessary files and get the site online. My question is that if I register a Domain name, do I just point that Domain name to the servers IP?

pretty much, you also need to setup their router to direct incoming requests on port 80 and 8080 to that server, but not outgoing requests

also, make sure they have a static IP, if they have a dynamic IP, you may have to setup a dynamic DNS service and direct the domain to that, which will redirect to the server
