So this is my first ever build from the base up! I took some consulting with a friend who loved AMD and some searching of my own.

This is a budget build using rebates and gift cards I got from ones those... survery sites la gasp.

I started learning computers in high school but was not a techie per say until college. I started out with a HP Pavillion A6414f 3.0ghz, 4gb ram, 32 vista for college yay.... well then I bought got Windows 7 64 bit and was amazed at the difference even though I could run Vista .. "ok"

I finally got around to getting rewards saved up and such to get me my first custom built pc.

It's mostly done lacking a new video (Nvidia GT 240 currently ), power (to a 750w) and a cpu cooler (H100i what got my eye on).

If you look at the parts yes they are true even in picture on partpicker I have copies of the invoices lol.

My dad has a 430w version in his rig that has lasted 5 years, they aren't the best but it hasn't blown up so...

That is a good motherboard too,

Personally i would have gone for 2x4gb for RAM for dual channel speed but otherwise with a gpu upgrade it should be a solid build.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Peripherals: Logitech G19 and SteelSeries Sensei RAW

Toshiba L50-A: i7 4700mq, 8gb, 1TB HDD, GT 740M 2gb

Well yeah. SSD to small, I would not go AMD, but thats just me.

Also thermal paste is pre applied on stock cooler, and most aftermarket ones has it too, so...

Intel i7 2600 @ 4.2 Ghz | MSI Z77-GD55 | Crucial 16 GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz | Intel 330 SSD 180Gb | Western Digital Black 1Tb | Western Digital Green 2Tb | Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti | OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W | Thermaltake Commander MS-I case | OS X Yosemite | Dell Vostro 3550 Windows 10

Intel Xeon 1230 V2 | Gigabyte GA-H61M-S | Kingston 4Gb RAM 1333Mhz | Seagate 1TB  | Fractial Design Arc mini | Windows 10

Also I would go with intel CPU,and I don't see GPU? Also bigger storage for ssd,I myself have samsung evo 840,250gb.
Also I think that windows 7 is better for gaming, but you probably wont' game without GPU.(Yes I know that amd cpu has nice gpu,but it still not close to good one for today's game).
But it seems like you are on budget, about 500$ with monitor?
Also better power supply.
You should say why did you go with something and not with that,so people don't tell you stuff like I did,it may be annoying.

Well SSD was left over from 2012 upgrade of my last desktop. Probably going go to a 256 Samsung

22$? what?

Yep :) Rewards and rebates hehe.

Some reason the current gpu isn't in the part base. As I said above the list it got a Nvidia 240 until November when going to a R9 280x probably an Asus R9 280x DirectCU II .

The FX series doesn't have a gpu mate that's the FM2 series apus.

Yeah  I did on partpicker explained the parts.

Yeah an extreme budget :) With the true paid prices of the recycled parts it's about a 1k build or so. But monitor and stuff is old hoping to get a display port monitor in the future.

I went 8.1 simply to try it out since got it through my work. As long as you use your apps and don't go hunting things and don't get poped into metro your fine.
