Anyone help? My first FX processor. I read some internet junk about how the temps are inaccurate at idle.

And something about 10 degree add or subtract thing.... Anyway Core temp is being retarded, 20 mins Prime 95 testing said that it only reach 35 degrees.., However opening core temp in windows 8 it opened with 38 degrees max and then flew like a rocket back down.

So how can opening it make it 38.. But only reach 35 on max load in prime..

I took a screenshot of Hwinfo which shows what I assume to be core temp.. And socket temp. Is there some magical equation I can use to figure out the actual temp of the frigging thing? I'm ocd.. And thinking my chip is running ht is making me nervous, the screenshot is after 20 mins of cpu stressing on prime.  Here's the screenie: http://i58.tinypic.com/qno782.jpg

Is there any software that can calm my mind by telling me my cpu's actual temperature.. I miss my 955 BE Now. Least it told me how hot it was properly.

Core Temp doesn't work very well with AMD from what I've heard

My mate recorded temps of 17 degrees to 135 degrees, which is ludicrous, especially when the ambient temperature was 21 degrees.

Whereas, my Intel system records the same temperatures as the BIOS

Compatible with Windows 95

You don't use CoreTemp for AMD CPU's -- it doesn't work very well. It works Mich better with Intel chips.

Use AIDA64 or HWMonitor.

Have CPU-Z opened as well.

Is your FX-8320 currently at stock speed, or is it over clocked?

Can you post a CPU-Z screenshot?
