Several times while playing games my computer would shut down immediately and showing a message " your overclocking setting have failed loading last known working configuration " upon restart


im not overcloking my cpu or gpu , only the monitor from 60hz to 70hz 


running system 


what could be the problem, does unlocked mean it it doesnt stay at 3.5ghz but varies depending on programs running ?


 


windows 8 


intel i5 4670k unlocked


sapphire tri-x r9 290


psu 850w bronze modular 


mobo z97-g55 sli ready

Maybe your GPU or CPU coolers aren't working correctly?

does this happens with just one game or on all games you play?

 

it may seems that the BIOS may have some problems

 

check to see if the CMOS battery is secure

 

check the BIOS and set it to load defaults

 

but remember to set back the SATA to AHCI mode 

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
