When you have an old laptop harddrive (empty) and a CDreader/writer you could try to swap harddrives (hardrive must be empty) and then have windows 7/8 on a CD. When you turn on your laptop it can't detect windows and it will ask where to boot from.

Select you CDreader and boot from that.

In the meantime connect your current harddrive to another PC and load off all your important stuff. Afther that format your drive (you will lose all the files that you didn't load of that harddrive)

When your pc is finished booting from the CD just let it sit there for about 10 minutes. Turn the laptop off. Now install your formatted drive back into your laptop and boot again from the CD.

Load windows onto your new harddrive 'et voilà' that should work.

Remember to load of all your important files (such as photo's) before formatting your drive!

I hope it helped you :)
