Hey guys,
since you are a great community with much more knowledge, I wanted your opinion on the parts that i had an eye on and help me to choose the parts that I'm still unsure about.
(sry, no partpicker since some of the parts were missing)

CASE: NZXT H440 (http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/143-h440-performance-mid-tower.html)
CPU: AMD FX 8350 (http://www.amazon.de/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1M9Y6WOA5TR3Z&coliid=I84F24W4PH1K5)
GPU: R9 290 (which version should I take?)
PSU: Corsair RM850 (http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00F4UZ19G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1M9Y6WOA5TR3Z&coliid=I24HNAGHK4V61E&psc=1)
Storage: 2x Samsung MZ-7TE250BW Serie 840 EVO Basic 250Gb in RAID0 (http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00E391OX6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1M9Y6WOA5TR3Z&coliid=IL1YTH2UAVOE2&psc=1)
and Seagate ST2000DX001 SSHD 2TB (http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00ELAVI3I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1M9Y6WOA5TR3Z&coliid=ICP6NZ18CAJRP)

1.Budget/Location
I plan to spend around 1.600€ (roughly 2.120$) but I consider raising the price. (I am from Germany)

2.Aim
CPU/GPU-intense gaming and video editing.

3.Monitors
Currently I am using a fairly standard 24" 1080p Monitor, but i plan on upgrading to an 34" 21:9 2560x1080 or an 29" 4k monitor.

4.Peripherals
There are no peripherals that would affect the costs.

5.Why are you upgrading?
Because my laptop with 650m 1Gb and 2x2.60Ghz i5-"idon'tknow" just doesn't cut it anymore and i want to be able to run latest games at ultra again.

6.What do i need your help for?
(I'm sorry...it's quite a lot I'm asking for >.<)
1.I want to know what you think of the parts i already chosen.
2.I would like to know which motherboard and RAM you recommend.
3.Which of the following will fit in the case and which would you recommend? 1 140mm push-pull liquid cpu cooler (i have an eye on the kraken x41),or a 360mm push-pull liquid cpu cooler?

I'd like to thank you in advance for your help :)

Get an i5-4690k, sorry after rereading, get an i7 4790k

Get the Tri-x or Vapor-x for the R9 290

Doesn't matter much but I'd get a WD 2TB black edition instead of the seagate

As for the RAM I'd go with G-skill Ram. At the end of the day this doesn't matter that much

As for the case, keep the one you have now, or get a Phanteks Enthoo pro

For video editing I would highly suggest an i7 4790K, though if thats out of your budget and you can spare extra rendering time go with an i5 4690K

For a motherboard get something from Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte that is z97, and for Ram I'd suggest Corsair Vengeance.

A great case with lots of space is the Corsair Air 540.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

1.Is the i7 4790K really worth twice the price?/i5 4690 better than the fx8350 if I want to overclock?
2.How do you think will be the performance of the build? (enough for "next-gen" titles or/and 4k gaming?)
3.What makes the WD Black better?
4.Is the R9 290 a good choice?

RAID 0 ssd is not going to give the real world performance improvement one might think - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-raid-benchmark,3485-13.html.

http://www.amazon.de/EVGA-220-G2-0850-XR-Evga-Netzteil/dp/B00J299ALA/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1408844796&sr=1-1&keywords=220-g2-850-xr is less expensive and better than the RM-850.

The i7-4790K is an unlocked cpu (can overclock) with a base speed of 4GHz and 4 hyperthreaded cores. The i5-4690 is a locked cpu (cannot overclock) with a base speed of 3.5GHz and 4 non-hyperthreaded cores. So yes, the price differential is worth it if one needs the power. In a pure gaming system the i5 will do just fine as the gpu plays a much more important role in game performance.

An R9 290X or GTX 780 Ti will provide for a longer useful gaming lifetime.

In a build with an ssd as the primary drive a WD Black really isn't worth the premium.

thanks for your feedback so far :)
(now all components are supported: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2GPkHx)

I still have some questions:
1. I want to watercool the cpu und possibly the gpu, what would be your recommendations in the h440?
2. What are the most important things to watch our for when choosing a motherboard?
3. I want to overclock the cpu as far as possible (with the watercooler)...Will the i5 4690k still beat the FX-8350, and will it be worth the 70€/90$ more?

Link does not work.

  1. Swiftech H220-X. Looks good. Does an excellent job cooling. Loop can be extended to include gpu and additional radiators.
  2. Has the features one wants. Doesn't have a lot of unneeded features. If overclocking number of power phases - more is better.
  3. Yes, http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2014/07/03/intel-core-i5-4690k-review/1.

1. Thanks, that really looks like the best option...there isn't a 360mm version, is it?
2. Would you recommend adding a 360mm rad to this and if so, which one?
3. Also what should i use to hook up my gpu to the watercycle (sry,I have never done watercooling before)
4. So the i5 4690k is the best choice in this priceclass?

  1. The H220-X is a new product. Swiftech does have an H320 which is 3x120mm fans. I don't know if they plan on replacing it with an H320-X along the lines of the H220-X.
  2. I would only add another rad when extending the loop to gpu. The Water Cooling forum would be the best place to get advice on which add might be best. From my perspective a 120mm per gpu should be sufficient.
  3. http://youtu.be/0fpum4J6C2k shows the process of adding a gpu to the previous generation H220. It will give you an idea of what must be done. You may want to check out the forums at swiftech.com for details on working with the H220-X.
  4. For a mostly gaming and video editing rig an overclocked i5 is, in my opinion, a better choice than the FX-8350.
