So I have an LED HP monitor that I've had for a few months now. On the first month, I actually made a mistake that I thought I could clean it like my previous monitors with a micro-fiber cloth and lightly damped in cold tap water. I was so wrong, this actually made it worse. And left swiping marks on the screen. Is there any way to clean this off? It's NOT exactly bothering me when I don't have a light pointed at it. But it's causing my OCD to like freaking wanna stratch it off.

Thanks!

Have you tried alcohol or windex? I find both work amazingly to clean monitors.

Micro fiber cloths only work dry.

I would say slow wipes with a wet paper towel, don't press to hard, and dust off the bits that the paper towel leaves when it dries.

I think that's for LCD only.

LED means it uses an LED as the backlight instead of a small fluorescent tube, nothing to do with the display technology.  The monitor is still an LCD and can be cleaned just the same way as any other monitor.
