Has anyone here been in a really bad car crash like mine?

I don't know how bad your car accident was, but 2 years ago I was hit by a semi. For the most part just minor injuries with a fairly decent settlement plus a new car :P

luckily no, I got sideswiped but luckily it was the passenger front fender and pass door so I was able to swap those pieces myself and get back on the road with a pocket full of cash.

I've been meaning to pick up a cheap dashboard camera from ebay, anyone got any opinions on them? I just want the basics just video, no gps no G meter I dont even care about sound

Ended up being in hospital for a month and nothing I can do to get money from ZIPCAR

Yup, your accident is quite significantly worse, my car barely reached the point of being considered a write-off.

I was in a little civic and got sandwiched between a Land Rover and a mini van. They were both going 60+ mph. Obviously my car was totaled.

Actually, two cars going opposite directions at 80k will be like running into a solid wall, not doubling it. So, in reality, it was 80k for you.

When I was 19 I hit a tree with my 1st car, a Renault 5. I was paying too much attention to someone closing in fast behind me and the right front wheel got caught in a hole just next to the asfalt causing the car to jerk right towards the tree. Managed to correct it just enough to only hit it with the right side of the front, but still launched the car in the air to land on the driverside door, leaving me trapped in the car. The person speeding behind me helped me get out through the backdoor(booth) and I was brought to the hospital by ambulance. luckily I only had injuries to my left arm and my spine and neck were fine after examinations. I later went to see my car at the scrapyard to be in horror of what could have happened: a little more to the right and I could not have survived. The right side of the car was gone almost completely till the backseat and the dashboard had snapped in 2 and was sticking through the passenger seat. Good thing I wore my seatbelt which I still fasten before I drive off everytime, and I also never drive off with my passengers not wearing seatbelts.

When I was 17 my sons mom and i were going to my dads house to get some money so I could get a new alternator for my car. As we wer on our way there we started arguing about money and I was not paying attention. I do remember the light and I swear to this day it was green but a semi truck T-boned me on my side of the car at 60 miles an hour. It flipped my car 3 times then I hit the light pole knocking it down. When I became aware of the fact I was in a car crash I realized my sons mom was no longer in the car. I could not get out of my car as it was crush on both sides and on the top of the roof. They had to get the jaws of life to get me out of my car. At the hospital I found that my sons mom had been thrown out of the car before I hit the pole and landed in the field of grass so I was releaved on that. I was not so lucky I had a burst Spleen and was in the hospital for over a month. I recovered well. That was over 13 years ago

That's pretty bad! Not to diminish the suck-factor of your accident, but a head-on collision between two cars, each going 80kph, is equivalent to an 80kph collision with a solid wall, not 160kph.
