Hello good folk of the LTT community. I'm TOTALLY confused.

I have the logitech G35 (drivers installed etc). So yesterday I was in skype with my mates and the mic was working perfectly well. Suddenly today (without adjusting ANY settings) the mic has suddenly decreased in quality but ONLY in skype. I recorded with OBS to test the mic, recorded in mumble and teamspeak and in all of those programs my mic sounds perfectly fine but in skype the quality has just dipped significantly.

I have already tried reinstalling drivers, restarting skype/pc, reinstalling skype, etc. I don't know what it can be now.

Check internet speed and ping that or maybe just quit using skype as it's only getting worst and worst....

It's most definitely not my internet. Also it worked perfectly yesterday and I've used skype all the time and always worked fine for me.

well then it's probably just skype doing whatever it is that skype does xD it's a very fickle program known to be moody there's a reason tons of people have abandoned it for the most part... (EG Linus and Luke even did a video for RazerComms saying they were done with Skype) and 4Chan has undergone the process of making it's own VOIP known as Tox, lots of games are starting to drop skype support opping more for Mumble or TeamSpeak D: probably by 2020 Microsoft will drop all skype support.

And? All that does is disprove(or rather reduce the chance of) driver errors, does not mean there isn't fault programming (which there is in skype) Drivers and general programming are different. another possibility is the mic is just dieing but that's also unlikely by the fact it works perfectly in other programs. Skypes known for having bipolar call quality another thing to think of is soundcard/amp/frontpanel connectors may be having random isssues such as loose wire somewhere for connectors or just dieing soundcard/amp getting old.

If the call host have a bad connection it can make your microphone sound like garbage. Try to make the call yourself.

It's not the host, already tried 3 different hosts.
