Flashing custom bios

Go to solution Solved by iRandomize,

My question is: Is is possible to flash the bios from a different vendor? I was hoping to grab the EVGA GTX 760 bios. I am being very careful here to make sure everything matches (memory, version and device id). The reason I want to try this is because the bios comes pre-oced and would be more professionally done in comparison to the one I made.

Those cards are completely different, the chances of failure are pretty damn high. "More professionally done" will make no difference at all, the overclock and performance will be exactly the same.

Hi guys,

I was playing around with my Asus GTX 760 DCU2 OC and found that I was able to overclock the card quite well whilst keeping the temps down. I then proceeded to alter the bios using Kepler Bios tweaker and was able to successfully flash and use the new bios. My question is: Is is possible to flash the bios from a different vendor? The reason I want to try this is because the bios comes pre-oced and would be more professionally done in comparison to the one I made. However there is one slight difference, the version number for my current bios is 80.04.BF.00.06  but the new one is 80.04.BF.00.49 will the change in the last 2 digits make a big difference or cause a problem? I believe it is caused by the manufacturing dates as they are different.
