Alright so I'm planning my first custom loop in the next month or so and i have a visualization of what i want it to look like but i need some pointers and help choosing liquid cooling parts. I'm going for a mostly green theme and here is what i have decided on so far.

-definitely compression fitting

-MCP655 pump

-gtx780

-4770k

-the new gigabyte sniper/killer board

-any memory

-a quad rad and maybe another dual rad

-probably going with a 900d

So as you can see haven't decided on tubing or specific fittings or coolant or PSU or SSD's or RAM or HDD etc. So post your suggestions!

                                                                                                                                                       | Alphacool Nexxos MONSTA dual 120mm Black Ice nemesis GTX360 triple 120mm | Noctua NF-F12 X4 | Bitspower true silver 1/2ID 3/4 OD compressions (various angles) |

You should be fine with any compression or monsoon fittings, clear tubing, and mayhem dyed green coolant. The PSU really depends on what you are planning on doing in the future, i.e. keeping current configuration, or future SLI, or even future 3/4 way SLI. For the SSD, it really depends on what your budget is, and whether or not you would like speed, storage, or both. If you are tight on budget a sub $100 SSD such as the Samsung 840 120gb should suit your needs. For the  RAM, again depends on budget and preferences. The best value I can think of right now is the Team Xtreem DDR3-2400 2x8gb 16gb kit that you can get for $139.99+shipping. Even the DDR3-1866 RAM is selling at, or around that price point right now, so you won't be disappointed with this RAM kit's performance. As for radiators, I'd recommend the thicker XSPC RX480 and RX240 radiators.

Thanks allot but one more thing, i'm not 100% familiar with the 900d layout but i'm pretty sure i'm going to be mounting the quad rad up top. Any ideas for where i should mount the dual rad? Should i go with another quad rad in the basement? Also where is a good spot for my pump/reservoir. Last thing, I'm thinking of buying fans for all the mounts so what fan layout should i go with to maintain positive air pressure. Sorry for all the questions but it's my first loop and don't really wanna mess up :P

I'm planning a 900D full watercooled rig with a 4770K and dual 780's as well, but blue themed instead of green. My brother has a green rig though and it looks awesome! Anyway, I have an RX240 right now which I will reuse and I'm gonna buy a 480 probably from alphacool. I'm gonna put the quad in the basement on the side which has the front side panel (the one with the window) and the dual rad on the front, removing the stock fans, or on top, not sure which yet. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the dual rad doesn't really make much difference in placement, but the quad I think is better in the basement because there's more room. On top, it can be a hassle to get fittings and tubing in the bay areas and on the other end, it can be hard to get the 8-pin CPU power cable on there.

Sorry for not responding earlier as the WD Computex Giveaway flooded my notifications. I think the basement would be a good place to mount your pump. Just make sure your reservoir is above the pump and connected directly to it with no obstacles for the fluid in the tubing. The fact that the pump never runs dry or pump massive amounts of air bubbles is critical. I'd suggest watching the ultimate water cooling guides from Linus on the NCIXcom channel. As for the positive pressure, just make sure you have more intake fans than you do exhaust fans. You should learn a lot from here: http://www.silverstonetek.com/techtalk_cont.php?tid=wh_positive&area=en. Hope this helped! :D If you need any more help, don't be afraid to ask.

..I'm planning my first custom loop

-gtx780

-4770k

So post your suggestions!

to cool an overclocked CPU and GPU a 360x 60 will do the job exceptionally well.

fans will have to be in the 1400-1600 range in a push or pull arrangement. or even

a 2x 240x 60 combination will do it well with push or pull @ 1600rpm. push/pull

with 800-1000rpm fans if you have room in a case to do so.

if later considering adding another GPU to the loop an additional 240x 60 will

provide great headroom and cooling allowing the fans to come down to 1000-1200rpm

and keep cooling performance high.

so this can open up a lot more case options, unless the 900D is what you actually

have to have.
