Hello Gents,

Last time I looked around for a good bluetooth mouse, there weren't any. Hopefully that's changed by now and you guys can recommend me something for my netbook so I don't have to keep sacrificing a usb port to my mouse.

Features I'm looking for:

  • Rechargeable battery
  • Long battery life
  • Two-button PLUS clickable Mouse Wheel
  • Ideally an additional 1 or 2 buttons on the left for backward/forward
  • Palm-Grip

I'll be doing 3d modelling, CAD and Photoshop work with it, and some light gaming.

For comparison I use (and love) a Razer Deathadder for my desktop machine. Amazon.ca and NCIX are my preferred retailers, Canadian prices if possible and there's no real max-budget.

Thanks guys!

but perhaps this is too expensive ?

Hmm, I'll check out some reviews to make sure the Bluetooth stuff is all internal and not some usb dongle. Anyone got anything else?

  • 3 weeks later...

Went with the RAT M, it's OK, nothing special.

Care to elaborate on how the rat m is? I'm in the market for a similar mouse to pair with my surface pro 3 and I haven't found anything that I like just yet.

Sure, here it is, it's their small mobile (hence the M) version of the RAT. Battery life seems to be decent, pairing was simple, the software is also decent. It takes a few seconds to "wake-up" after not using it for a while and the connection is not as strong or as far-reaching as I've experienced with other USB-dongle wireless mouse. But the build quality is very high and it's pretty comfortable for a small mouse. More buttons then I use or like, but at least they're in logical easy-to-reach areas.

I still don't like bluetooth, but I guess overall it is worth it to not have to waste a usb port (especially for your Surface). When I was looking around the only two Bluetooth mice that anyone seemed to recommend were the Razer Orochi and the RAT M, however if you like touch-mice (I hate them) there's also Apple's (stupid) Magic Mouse and Microsoft's Arc Touch Mouse (I used the first gen version back in the pre-touch days and liked it). So give those a look too.

One last nice feature about the RAT M though is that it also includes a USB Dongle in case you get tired of dealing with Bluetooth and want to go that route at any time.

Anything else you want to know?

Ah good man. RIght now I'm leaning towards the Rat M. The magic mouse and arc touch doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for because some of the programs I use, such as CAD programs, use the scroll wheel/click within their interface.

Thanks for the answer. You answered my question and gave additional insight. You sir a gentleman and a cholar

I use AutoCAD and SketchUp with the Rat M, does an adequate job in both. You'll have to toy around with the dpi settings though.
