Downsampling problem

I have an r9 270 and a 1440x900 monitor. When i downsample and change the display to a higher resolution, my monitor ui comes up and says "Input signal out of range, change to 1440x900". How do i get it to stop saying that?

With it saying something like that it is likely your monitor will not support downsampling, Not all monitors are made equal like anything else so not all monitors can downsample sadly
