Best CPU for my gaming rig

Kbraw

Hello friends,

i have narrowed my options for a PC CPU, i dont have a motherboard yet because i want to choose intel or AMD first.

The options are:

On The intel side:

Intel Core i5-4670K

Intel Core i5-3570K

Intel Core i5-4690K

And for AMD:

AMD FX-8350

AMD FX-8320

AMD FX-6300

I really dont have much for GPUs but please comment a nice one, prefferably Nvidia but AMD is ok (im not green team fanboy) and at least 2 GB of Vram

Target budget is 750$$$$$$(US Dollars)

for 750 dollars is not much for a intel gaming rig if 750 dollars is your entire budget for a desktop pc, you would get a amd fx 8320 and r9 280 would be your best bet.

Are you only buying the CPU & Motherboard? Or are you buying an entire system? If you're just buying the motherboard and CPU, then get the 4690K and a nice motherboard (Z97 chipset). If you're buying the entire system, go with the FX-6300.

Excellent, in which case the build I listed above is probably the most ideal. I opted for the AMD R9 280 as it destroys the GTX760 and with a bit of overclocking the 770 (and for games that are using more than 2gb of vram it will also beat it) (it's also much cheaper than 770 :P).

I'd suggest you purchase Windows from reddit.com/r/software swap. I recently picked up a windows+office key for $20 and they both work fantastic.

- snip -

On topic that i5 4460 is a good solid CPU. Within your price range pretty much the best choice.
