heat problems on cpu

this my my setup i have an h80i  in push pull and asus z97 pro wifi and i7 4790k and this happened.... i had the test running no more then 15mins 

 

 

 

 

 

so yeah.... the cooler is mounted properly i have idle tempters of 26C

Are you positive it is mounted correctly? Don't have any tape on the block you were supposed to remove? Enough thermal paste (easy to double check, take the block off)? Pump working? Airflow restrictions with the radiator?

i have a fan mounted on the top im wondering if the fan is taking to much air away from the rad. i think i took the plastic of the bottom i took the plastic off the top. the pump is working. i will say this i do not have the corsair link into a mobo header will that cause problem and the fans are plugged into the pump

i just re mounted the cpu the thermal grease was spread very good on the cpu pump working fine i have no idea whats up is it possible the backplate isnt on good enough ?

Just out of curiosity, what are your ambient temps?

Your voltage looks to be very high for a Haswell CPU.

i think i found the problem. i noticed the tpu switch was enabled on my motherbord the cooler was fine i disabled the switch my cpu dropped from 4.4ghz to 4.0ghz temps dropped to 67C but my memory is down clocked to 1333mhz brb..

for some reason the bios is making my default voltage 1.3....

ok im officially stupid  i switch from prime 95 to adata64 temps dropped almost 30 Degress, running around 70C at 4.4GHZ why does switching one program do that much to a cpu

i leaned the hard way ....im glad no damage has been done even tho it was at 98C for 10mins
