Hey people of the LTT forums!

I'm building a computer in September and have no prior knowledge of PC hardware. I was raised by 2 tech savvy parents, so I know more than the average PC user. I will only end up having a TOTAL budget of around $800 - $900. I have $500 already on hand, and will be recieving $300-$400 on my birthday on September 4th. Right now, I have a couple of PC's budgeted for different price areas. For instance, I priced a PC for around roughly $750, and have another for around $850. Here they both are. $750: pcpartpicker.com/p/NJdtLk. $850: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WhJP8d.

I do not plan to overclock for a while as I am crunched for money but have been wanting this since May of this year, so I'm using the stock cooler until maybe Christmas?

Thoughts anyone?

You will want a CPU cooler to go with that. AMD stock coolers are the worst....

You also might want to step up the wattage on the power supply for future addons.

Also, it might not seem like it but having a decent wifi  adapter comes in handy. Don't always get the cheapest you can find for that. I think I have a TP-Link Dual band N600 PCIe adapter. I like it. I think I got it for around $25

Alright guys sorry for the wrong forum and thanks for the advice.

Other: windows 8.1 @G2a ($20.00)

That seems a little low for Windows 8, as it just came out a few months ago and should be at lowest about $100. A lot of computer stores will pirate windows software and make it look legit.
