Nice specs. But what monitor are you going to be using? Because if you're playing with a 1920x1080 monitor then that 4GB R9 290x is beyond pointless. Also, trust me, you should go for Windows 7 instead. Microsoft are giving up on Windows 8 and as such, there will not be a Windows 8.2, only the monthly security updates. Also, Windows 7 is better anyway. Oh, and you might want to go for the "K version" of your 4690, change the Noctua cooler, change the motherboard to one from the likes of Asus, MSI or Gigabyte and change the Power Supply to a Corsair or Rosewill.

the 4GB 290x isnt pointless... its overkill, but what would you buy? a 2GB 770 which Vram isnt enough and in everyway worst?

windows 8.1 users will get a free update too windows 9, windows 7 users wont...

Windows 8.1 still has better performance than windows 7 and is generally the one most people on the forum go for

Agree about the K version processor

Why does he have to change the cooler and motherboard? Noctua coolers are good and ASROCK boards are perfectly fine, as are the XFX PSUs , at least they will be perfectly ok for this build given the price ( also rosewill are hit and miss)

The 290 might be overkill for 1080p but not pointless, it will last a long time, and the OP can upgrade his monitor down the road

The GTX 770 is indeed worse than the R9 290X, but the R9 290X simply isn't necessary. So I would suggest either the R9 280X or the R9 290. Otherwise, go for one of the models of the 770 with 3GB of RAM or wait for 8xx series.

3GB version of the 770 doesnt excist

4GB version do, and guess what, you said its unnecesairy... -.-

280x is to expensive if you look at the amazing deal that a 290 (x) is

Noctua coolers are good, but for the price you could get better coolers which don't look like Shrek. Also, if the OP can afford it then he should go for an MSI or Asus motherboard because MSI motherboards have a lot of great features and are good for the price. Asus motherboards are known for their fantastic performance.

I wouldn't buy a 4690k because I don't think I'm going to overclock, so I'd keep the money I'd spend...

As some other said, the GPU isn't pointless, as it's supposed to be used for a long time, even at 1920x1080...

I choose W8.1 because it's newer, with better performances.

PS: I'm using a 32" LG TV (I know it's not the best option, but it's what i have now...

Then you do not need a z board, you could save money and get a H97 or cheaper motherboard

Definitely need to grab a good monitor sometime in the future soon!

I always thought EVGA made a 3GB GTX 770? My bad. Why not go for a model of the R9 290X with less VRAM.

Oh, and I found the R9 290X that OP wanted. If it's the one with the 8GB AMD RAM, I heard that the AMD RAM isn't that fast. Maybe OP should consider acquiring a higher res monitor simply to make the purchase of a 4GB R9 290X worth it?

If you're not going to overclock then replace your Noctua with a Corsair H55. Also, try and buy a monitor as soon as possible because I should remind you that TVs look better from further away and aren't meant to be used up close. Also, even for long term use, a 4GB R9 290X is very inefficient for a TV with a display resolution of 1920x1080.

get the 4790k 4 ghz or get 6 core intel those are good think of day z you need strong cpu and in future the i5 are nothing in these days get a good cpu

The i7 nowadays is essentially an i5 with hyperthreading. Also, this person is clearly on a tight budget so suggesting that he buys very expensive CPUs is a tad absurd.

like what all the people say save money to buy decent monitor since i think your tv will be 30 hz or 60hz on the screen.

they advertise tv's with 200hz and 600hz and they cost less than a monitor that has 144hz take these numbers by a pinch of salt.

use a tv for a tv and a monitor for pc ;)

with all the savings above my post i think you will be closer to buy a decent screen soon.
