Hello,

I want to build a gaming pc. I will be gaming at 1080p and I want the possibility to overclock. ( I won't be doing it right away, but I want the possibility) I have about 800 dollars to spend.

(actually im spending in euros but it doesnt matter too much)

I made a build, here it is: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Q4bV23

Please tell me what I can improve or remove.

I thought since I won't be overclocking yet I woulnd't need a CPU cooler, and since I have a limited budget I won't be adding a SSD for now either.

Please tell me what you think!

Seems pretty good to me, the only way of improving it would be to spend more money.

When you decide to overclock, the hyper 212 evo is a good cooler and only costs around $25.

CPU: 6600K @ 4.6Ghz | COOLER: H100i GTX | MOBO: Asus Z170 AR | GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid | RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB |

CASE: Corsair 760T | PSU: Corsair RM750x | STORAGE: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & Seagate 2TB | KEYBOARD: K70 RGB | MOUSE: Deathadder Elite

1. Budget & Location

My budget is 800 euros but lets leave it at 800 dollars to make it easier!

2. Aim

Battlefield 4, gta v

3. Monitors

How many monitors do you plan on running? Do you plan on moving to more monitors in the future? What resolution are they at too?

4. Peripherals

I got a monitor, keyboard mouse etc.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am on a laptop right now, asus n56vb but I don't want to play games on this laptop because I will use it for school!

As an american, with euros I usually just guesstimate by adding ~40% to the cost (unless it's a very strict budget, then I use the uk pcpp url - uk.pcpartpicker.com).

Now, the questions. Answers are person; this is your build.

Why Z87 over Z97? Concern for cost, you don't care, what?

The motherboard is rather poor for overclocking such a CPU unless you really don't want to have your base (not boost) clock much higher than the stock boost. That's mostly my opinion as I'm a Gigabyte fan, but even for MSi this isn't a very decent board for OC.

Aside from that, build looks solid if you're not concerned about an SSD (you really shouldn't be in most cases when price is a factor).

However, the build lacks a case. I recommend the Cooler Master N600 for ~$70-90 (possibly closer to 60-75 euros, if available) which includes on-sale price, one of the various Fractal Design cases if you're on a budget, or a Corsair Graphite case if you have the money. They're rather standard and common but none of the new Enthoo cases are out yet as far as I know. Cases in general are personal so if you actually need one, pick either a good one or one that you like.

If you want you may give me a budget similar to this one in euros and I'll try my best to suggest a good gaming pc part list. Either way this one is good and I approve of it.

Edit: People mentioned peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse/pad) and OS. These are less important but definitely shouldn't be overlooked if you don't already own any.

I am so late with my reply.. I'll edit with a build, ignore all of this.

The build has a case, but somehow theres no picture for it on the pcpartpicker website. It is the Cooler Master N300 ATX Mid Tower Case. I am having a hard time choosing a MOBO and a Case.. Also I don't know if the Power supply will be enough.. The costs for this above build are about 762,- ( maybe 740 if I ordered from different sites ) If you could find me a z97 motherboard that will suit my needs I would be very happy! (Hopefully it will be available in the Netherlands)

Thank you in advance!

What resolution is your monitor? 1366x768, 1280x720, 1920x1080, other? It's important for your GPU budgeting and to some size matters but not so much if you're not purchasing one. It helps to let us know.

Or if you plan on upgrading your monitor, what resolution(s) are you looking at for the future then? I'm 99% done with what I think you'll love but I need to know the monitor specs before continuing.

1920x1080, Maybe ill get the 1440 thing once my ''old'' monitor is broken. It is a 24inch 1920x1080 one ( not very good, i bought it in 2009) But still does the job!

Sorry this took a while. PCPP broke, I messed up the build and then I had to reconsider some things to fit the 800 euro budget.

This is in pounds but it's just barely over 800 euros (also below $800). Everything about it is amazing, I swear. So much value and most things actually look great together.

If you don't have the money to buy it all at once, try and buy whatever is on a good sale first*. If you need advice on what to buy in case anything isn't available where you live, or is too expensive for you, I'll gladly assist with forum messages.
