Windows 7 changed to basic view plus no internet?

Please help, I came home today and my PC was on which doesn't make sense because it goes on sleep mode when left idle. Plus the entire task bar and any folder I open up looks like Windows basic view and I have no internet connection and I use a wired connection. I have no idea what is wrong, I appreciate any help ahead of time.

Edit: I tried restarting my PC, it didn't work.

Ctrl + R

devmgmt.msc

Check for any issues with the drivers for your hardware, us the 'scan for changes' to double check.

 

If that doesn't show anything, then look at event viewer.

Here is what is wrong:

-> Windows 7 Classic theme has been selected.

-> Network card driver issue. See Device Manager. Or Windows Troubleshoot.

-> It is normal that the computer gets to sleep when idle after a few minutes. The time is defined in the Windows power options of Windows.

Basically, the previous uses did:

-> Set Windows theme to Windows Classic, probably he prefer this way, or the computer doesn't (or the user didn't think) have the resources to run Windows 7 Aero Basic or full Aero

-> He wants the computer to go the sleep the moment he leaves it (minimum time possible is 1min in Windows)

-> Network card driver are missing or incorrectly installed.

That is all. So your real and actual problem is the last one. The network card drivers.
