I am looking for an alternative piece of software for encrypting files and preferably whole drives on Windows.

If anyone could recommend a piece of software that could fulfil a similar function to Truecrypt that is free I would be very grateful.

Many thanks, Fantom

I would rather not use Bitlocker, plus I can't use it on my Windows 7 Home Premium installtions. Any other suggestions?

Right now since TrueCrypt is dead.. I don't know if there are any good options besides BitLocker and LUKS on Linux

truecrypt will still work. there is a project going now to actually rewrite several parts of truecrypt as it was compiled with Visual C from like the 90's. really old version so its gonna get modernized considerably. i still trust truecrypt in its current form over any proprietary encryption solution
