Computer turns off and on repeatedly

Jacob Vile

Hi, until recently ive experienced a problem with my computer turning on then off again, repeatedly and rapidly. This only happens when you turn the computer off, and Ive tried unplugging it and holding the power button down but it doesnt do anything. As soon as you turn on the power supply it starts to turn on and off again. Eventually, after trying to fix it for a long time, it will function properly until you turn it off, and the whole thing starts over again.

Its a custom built computer and ive had it for almost a year now without issue.

I have a corsair cx430 PSU

Thnx

Usually when I've seen that happen it was either a PSU issue, or unstable/incompatible overclock or other settings in the BIOS. Try to reset BIOS/clear CMOS.

I'm in agreement it's likely PSU. Need full specs though OP!

I'm having this problem too, with the specs on my sig. I was typing one day with no signs of trouble, but I went to grab something and accidentally bumped my pc as i was walking. It started to do this, but it never goes back to normal. I decided to grab an old c2d based celeron pc and try that instead, but that's having the exact same issue. No post,no beep codes, it just starts up then shuts down, then repeats. This also started to happen to my power line adapter too, but everything else I'd fine. I essentially rebuilt my pc, and i have no clue on what's going on. Help?

I plugged my new to a different wall which I know works. Now I'm pretty sure it's the PSU, but if it's something else, what would it be?
