After leaving my PC on for a few hours, I notice Battlefield 4 is laggy and stuttery. My temps are fine so the only thing I can think of causing this is a memory leak. It has been said that Battlefield 4 has... issues with RAM. Nothing else has a problem running after my PC's been on for a few hours. The problem is that I don't know how to check for a memory leak.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

Just open a task manager & check memory there. I also had memory leak once in BF3. Suddenly felt terrible stuttering & when I checked task manager, almost all 8gb was in use (I had 8gb in the past). Rebooting helped. Hadn't that issue since that.

I don't really want to have to reboot all the time though.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Use afterburner to see if it is filling up your VRAM.

What do I look for in Afterburner?

What you are looking at. Play BF4 with afterburner open. If the stuttering happens again check afterburner for the VRAM and RAM usage. It will tell you the Max used.

It happened again.

I made the polling 10 seconds in Afterburner because I was in there about 5 minutes

it seems that the latest patch have broken something

user are reporting multi gpu setups not working properly

missing mantle options

if you happen to be using mantle in BF4, disable it and revert back to DX11 just to be sure

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I don't use Mantle in BF4 because it sucks. I didn't have this problem before I moved the game from my old ssd to my new one but I'm pretty sure that can't be the problem.

when you move the game from the old SSD

was it a copy or a fresh install?

does this happen with other games?

It was a copy and paste but I redownloaded it from Origin and it took about 2 minutes for it to recognize it. I have many other Origin games on there and it's fine. It's the game.

Interesting... I use it on my HD 7790 with not probs, must not be optimized with the 280x...which wouldn't make sense

it had problems on the 7970 which is why it has problems on the 280x
