Windows 8.1 problem

Go to solution Solved by Jamdude,

Don't use automatic detection to install your driver, manually do it.  http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64#amd-catalyst-packages

Hello there,

I recently upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1. When my system was still running on windows 8 it detected my Graphics card (AMD 7870) which of course my monitor gets its output from. When windows 8.1 finished updating my video out in DXDIAG it changed back to Microsoft basic display adaptor. I tried reinstalling the driver with the AMD automatic detection tool it wont detect my 7870 and keeps detecting my APU instead. Please Help.

Thank you in advanced

Boot, disable onboard GPU, set graphics to PEG. Shut down. Plug and connect card properly via DVI. Reboot. Result?

Reinstalling the driver did the trick, the APU and Onboard graphics are also disabled.
