So I'm new to PC building and this may be my first build as I am moving from gaming on a Mac and console (waiting for those special comments). I'm not sure if I should go for a cheaper build or if I should just go straight along with and I am planning to use it with the new Asus ROG Swift 1440p 144hz monitor: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/ZKQGhM

And here's the build for people who cba to use the link:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k @ 4.0 base
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7
RAM: 2x8GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866mhz
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 3TB
GPU: Asus Matrix Platinum GeForce GTX 780ti @1.1ish ghz base clock
PSU: Evga Supernova G2 750W 80+ Gold
All inside a nice black and red NZXT H440 with 3 140mm Corsair AF140 Red LED.
BTW I have spent about 6 months refining this list but it still might not be the best so I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks.

EDIT: I have refined the build even more so by incorporating some ideas on this youtube comment I wrote. The part list is here http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/Whn88d

Or:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k @4.0ghz base

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 7

RAM: 2x8GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum @1866mhz

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

HDD: WD Black 7200RPM 2TB

GPU: Asus Matrix Platinum Geforce GTX 780 Ti

PSU: EVGA Supernova G@ 750W 80+ Gold
ODD: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS DVD/CD Writer

All inside a nice black Corsair Graphite 760.

And by the way I put the 750W PSU so I can put in another GTX 780 Ti for SLI and 2TB and 16GB of high speed ram for video editing and such.

CoolBeans, I'm planning to record and I heard Shadowplay is pretty good so I'm trying to go for a nVidia build. And guys, I've got a budget of around $2000 or about £1600-£1700.

Hey AmazingHalfAsian,

good choice with the hard drive. The WD Black edition is exactly for gaming and maximum performance. It would be a great fit for your first build. :)

Cheers!

If you think I helped, like!  :P
