MSI Radeon 6970 Lightning issues..

Hello!

 

I have had my Radeon 6970 Lightning for some months now, but lately it has began to behave wierd.

The problem that has occured is that at random moments, my screen just freeze and turns yellow with green stripes.

The sound continues for 5 seconds but stops, then I get a blue-screen saying something about the two processors (CPU/GPU).

It has worked fine for 3 months (until now), no problems what so ever while I play CoD Black Ops 2 and World of Warcraft.

I've changed the thermal paste on the GPU aswell as the CPU, I've tweaked the voltage, I've never tried overclocking either of the processors.

I've never had any heat-problems with the CPU nor the GPU.

When I change the GPU to my older 550 ti gives no bluescreen about the processors, so it can't be anything with the CPU.

 

My other system specs:

CPU: Athlon2 x4 651k

RAM: 4Gb (2x2) 1333Mhz DDR3

Mobo: ASRock A75M-HVS 

PSU: FD Integra 650w 80+ Bronze

 

I do know that the CPU bottlenecks the crap out of a 6970, but I upgraded to 6970 from a GTX 550 ti and it still works wonders in CoD and WoW compared to before. :)

 

I would be really pleased if someone could help me with my problem.

So I guess here is where I say goodbye to my little (actually huge) friend.. he has served me well.. :(

Anyway, that's good to know so I don't have to waste more time trying to fix it. :)

MSI's customer service is awesome, they might offer you a 7950 in return !

I used to think that. Then they spent a month jerking me off and telling me my replacement motherboard had shipped. I still don't have it back.

 

I had a 6970 Lightning that failed and they were really good with that. They've just seriously dropped the ball on this motherboard.

I'd rather skip the trouble and just get a new card, I got the 6970 very cheap anyway.
