I just bought a x89 motherboard, and i am getting a new CPU around October or Christmas, will Broadwell be faster than Haswell or just more power efficient?

Presumably it will be marginally faster (5%~). Anyone, x89 won't support broadwell anyway....Isn't it still a 2011 socket?

Yes, broadwell is 1150 and haswell-e is 2011.

Well, Broadwell will, presumably, only be a marginal improvement over Haswell. So...I guess at this point it depends if you want to wait--keeping in mind there will be virtually no difference.

Well, Broadwell will, presumably, only be a marginal improvement over Haswell. So...I guess at this point it depends if you want to wait--keeping in mind there will be virtually no difference. 

Do you think the i7-5770k will be better than i7-4790k?

x99... but yeah, it's a 2011 socket.

They only made smaller changes with they architecture from haswell to broadwell.

 

In all theory; Broadwell should on average be 3% faster and in high-load 5-6% faster on average.

 

Broadwell have instead major improvements on power efficiency and the IGP.
