Database Software

1.I'm looking for free database software that is simillar to oracle (i've learned oracle).

 

The reason I'm looking for alternatives is because I want to make database for my father's business but oracle database is very expensive. (based on the price list).

 

And I'm not sure if the oracle express is going to be enough for it. Because it only allow 1 GB of RAM to be used.

 

2.Also I want to know what kind of hardware do i need.

 

*the database server gonna be remote server (the user (s) will not be in the same place with the server) and going to have 15+ user.*

Have you looked into MySQL? So far as I understand, Oracle and SQL are branches of the same base. There is also Microsoft SQL Server Express, though I have no idea about the limitations of it.

 

I can't help you on the hardware though, as I have no experience with managing an SQL/DB sever.
