New Build Update

Nerion

So Iv'e been putting together my first PC for a couple of weeks now. The budget is $1800 total but since im buying all the PC peripherals the money that would actually go to the PC would be about $1300. This is more of a gaming PC build. This is what I got, its been modified a lot of times:

PC:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

GPU: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card

Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Case Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 39.9 CFM 120mm Fan x3 Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan x2

Peripherals:

Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor

Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Wired Laser Mouse

Keyboard: Noppoo Choc Mini Keyboard MX Cherry Red

Mousepad: SteelSeries Qck

Camera: Logitech C920 1080p HD Camera

Lightning; NZXT Hue RGB LED Color Changing Controller

Ive been thinking about my PSU a lot. I used to have the Corsair RM650 on the previous build, but after reading some reviews and comparing prices, the EVGA sounded like a better option.

damn replace that mobo

you should be going for at least the 970 chipset

or get the 990FX chipset based mobos

drop to 8GB of RAM

Agreed... drop the memory down and look for a 990 chipset mainboard.

I need a Micro ATX Mobo thats the problem

generally mATX mobos for AM3+ are trash

you either have to go full ATX or going for the FM2+ or the Intel route

ASRock 880GM-LE FX is about the best mATX motherboard for the AMD side - not really going to find 990FX chipset on mATX within the AMD world.

mATX boards for the FX are generally trash IMO

the board you suggested do not have any VRM cooling and it stuck in the SATA gen 2 era and has IDE

lack USB 3.0

AMD decided that the 990 chipsets are for motherboards that do not have onboard video. AMD also decided that mATX motherboards should have onboard video - so no, there isnt a 990X chipset mATX motherboard.

However there is nothing wrong with the 760 and 880 chipsets... Not my fault that the fastest/best chipsets are not available on the mATX motherboards  ...pssst go Intel

Which of these do you guys recommend ? Preferably a fully blacked out mobo or a black/red.
