Possible Radeon Driver Bug

Hello, I believe I have located a AMD driver bug and need some assistance to confirm this behavior. 

 

Those of you who have:

• Multiple Monitors
• Radeon GPU

can possibly help

 

 

I'm running into an issue with dwm.exe chugging CPU whenever I open ANY GPU-accelerated app and drag it to my secondary monitor. You'd think this wouldn't be an issue since gaming occurs on my primary monitor, but Chrome/Waterfox are both GPU accelerated, severely hampering my triple-monitor setup.

I need someone(s) patron to test this behavior on their system, and preferably post their specs.

 

System that I get this problem on:

 

• Windows 8.1 (x64)
• Intel 2600k @ 4.5ghz
• 16GB Corsair Vengeance
• Sapphire Tri-X r9 290 w/ 14.4 Drivers

Three monitor setup:

• (primary) 27" @ 1440p w/ DL-DVI
• (left) 24" @ 1080p w/ DVI
• (right) 24" @ 1080p /w HDMI

No I didn't, I copied and pasted my thread from reddit and tidied it up.

oh, I should mention that it's not necessarily "chugging CPU", but it's pulling more CPU cycles than it should. I'm getting about 10-15% usage on my processor. If I minimize the app, it goes away. If I move it to my primary monitor, it also goes away.

Figured it out. 

 

I used the pixel clock patcher so I could run my 1440p monitor at 60+hz, it was the culprit. 

 

Clean install doesn't have this behavior.

 

Guess I'll slum it up with 60hz for now.
