messed up ps3 controller

MeeperSeven

Hey everybody, my little brother spilled some milk on their dualshock 3 and now the left and right d-pad buttons won't work. I'm thinking the conductive film may be what's messed up. What do y'all think?

Thanks,

Dylan

You can take it apart, wash all the plastic parts, wash the inside components and toss them in a bag of rice. Disconnect the battery before washing the electrical stuff inside though. I did this to mine after I doused it in coke before, works like a charm now.

Either it shorted out, or the contacts don't work. ^^^ Do what he says, I have cleaned mine out too.

Thanks guys. I'll try that. :)

I just don't want to spend $50 on a new one.

You mean wash the board? And is it really okay to wash the rumble packs?

Board yes, rumble packs, not really no.

I don't have any experience with soldering/unsoldering so I don't think I'll clean the board.

You can just hold it in a way under running water so the packs don't get wet...
