Windows 8.1 installed onto usb

I want to create a a run windows 8.1 on my usb drive. (for debuging purposes when needed)

will the 32bit version fit on a 14.8gb usb?

even the 64 bit version will.

I put my 64 bit 8.1 pro install on an 8 gig thumb drive and it worked wonders.

According to Microsoft, the minimum space requirement is 16 GB for 32 bit (20 GB for 64). Not sure if that's the actual minimum requirement or not, I've learned not to trust Microsoft.

yea i checked their, and their not accurate...

i thought you meant an install USB.

if you want to have something you can boot into a live environment with use linux,

I have my linux mint on an 8 gig and that is great for testing hardware/software issues.

i have one of those too. Some things need to be done from windows..so im looking to do that as well.

hmm. i know what you mean. I usually grab an ssd from the shelf at work and install to that to test things. Doesnt take more than 15 minutes. 

Then again you likely don't have access to a full bench and a whack of supplies 24/7 so i suppose an install on a usb could work.

I would get at least a 32 gig USB, if not 64 or 128.

Can i suggest http://www.corsair.com/en-us/company/press-release/corsair-flash-voyager-gtx-usb-flash-drive-puts-ssd-performance-in-your-pocket ?

keep in mind drivers would only be usable on systems that are very similar, so testing multiple systems with different sets of hardware is impractical if not impossible without re installing your OS every time.

its mainly for my main pc, if the drivers work straight away yay, if not o wel.

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/flash-voyager-go-32gb-pcmobile-flash-storage-drive this will probbly work just as well  just a tad bit slower, still faster than hdd.   ;)   For this http://www.corsair.com/en-us/company/press-release/corsair-flash-voyager-gtx-usb-flash-drive-puts-ssd-performance-in-your-pocket may as well carry a regular ssd with you for that price with an adapter...
