Hello

I want to delid my CPU, however, it requieres me to remove it and put it back in. I've heard that you shouldn't take a CPU out once it is in, is that true? I know about pins and being patient and careful, but is it a lost cause?

Thanks in advance.

As long as you are careful with not touching the pins and stuff you should be fine

Life.exe is missing

Removing the CPU is fine, so long as you don't touch the pins in the socket or the contact points or resistors on the base of the CPU.

Delidding it isn't exactly recommended, as your warranty will go down the drain, but if you're willing to take the risk, if it's an intel ivy or haswell chip it will give noticeable improvements, but be very careful when you do it.

There's basically no reason why you would possibly need to delid your CPU. But, as long as your careful, everything will be fine.

I'm gonna OC it quite soon and I've just stress tested it, and it runs unreasonably hot with a watercooler. So if I can shave off 5 degrees, it'll be worth it.

Nice to hear, thanks.
