Hi all, so I recently got my new parts for my build. I7 4770K, 8GB dominator, WD black 1TB, MSI z87-GD65, Corsair CX750M (getting SSD, GPU and new cooling etc soon). I installed it all, no problem. But when I put the HSF on I forgot to see if the pre-applied TIM on the stock HSF had a plastic film over it to protect the TIM; I had no option to check and make sure as I got mixed answers on superuser.com. I had no other TIM so had to put the HSF back on; I am running at 35-48 degrees with normal usage it seems to sit below 41 when we browsing, with youtube and about 3-4 other tabs open. I also have AV and other background processes open in background. Now when playing Guild Wars 2 I jump to 65 degrees with a max-peak of 71. Far Cry 3 max of 70 degrees, COH2 about 70 too. Is this safe? I will be buying a H100I this week with some Arctic Silver5 so I'll be getting it sorted soon; just want to know if it is safe to game. I have all my fans (the 3 included with C70) all set to 100% at all times, HSF set to not let temps go over 70. At the moment these are my temps since I started PC, using chrome with 5 tabs and another one with Youtube.

Should I avoid all games, or just keep watch on temps while gaming? I'd also appreciate it if you guys let me know your temps when using normally and when gaming!

Off topic: Does anyone know what screws are used to mount rads/fans in top of the c70? I have the long fan screws which seem to fit, not as snug as I'd like though!

that cpu is safe at over 100c, i think it shuts down at like 110 or something, and im guessing your fans are set to change speed depending on heat trying to keep it below like 70 or something, hell my gpu is running at 78 at all times when under heavy load, its just that my fans arent running over 55%

Yeah, it can go up to 100 degrees. But I do believe it is not advised to go above 80, correct?

thats more us saying that 80 is our limit :P  and above we stop feeling safe, but they can run hotter, but i would recommend a better cooler if it does
