When i set my voltage for my overclock and enable load line calibration so my voltage stays constant, my CPU draws 20+watts whilst idle, is this something to be bothered about?

Nothing to be bothered about, but power consumption and temperatures will be higher than with load line calibration disabled.

yeah i noticed that, gives a more stable overclock though

Ok enabling the c3/c6 lowers the power consumption, lets see if its stable

It depends on how you look at it. A steady voltage means at idle more current pass through the CPU than is needed and over time it can degrade it. 20 watts how ever is not considered to be to much. I how ever don't like that approach to overclocking as i prefer a good heat to performance ratio rather than how much i can get out of my CPU. I like to use the offset method with voltage on the + of either 0.010 to 0.050 for a range of 4.3 to 4.6 Ghz on ivy bridge and i leave my load line calibration on auto. On idle i draw 9.77v.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

on idle i am now drawing as low as 4watts, With LLC set to extreme
