Hi there time for a new build. This rig is for gaming and development and I'd appreciate some input!

I'm going to bringing over my 780 ti and hard drives from my current build. In the future I will most likely be SLI'ing two cards to feed my 4k monitor.

Intel Core i7-4790K

ASUS ATX Z97-PRO (Wi-Fi AC) (not really sure on this one)

Noctua NH-D15 (will I need low profile ram?)

Crucial Ballistix Sport Very Low Profile 32GB Kit

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2

Fractal Design Define R4 (R5 on the horizon?)

I was going to replace and add in some noctua NF-A14s. Do I want to get the PWM version if I'm going to be hooking it up into my Asus mobo for fan control?

Feel free to offer some advice and thanks for checking out my build!

why not go with watercooling?

The H110 and H100i are both two great AIO watercoolers.

Good idea!

Doesn't the NH-D15 trade blows with the H100? Is there another advantage to using water cooling over air? Unless there's a performance advantage I personally would rather stick with air.

Personally it's all in the preference - you tend to get better temps with AIO coolers compared to massive air coolers. I recently upgraded my CoolerMaster V8 to a Corsair H60 (only thing that could fit in my case) and was very pleased not only with the performance (would've gone with the h100 if I could've) but also the clean aesthetics - a massive CPU cooler just doesn't do it for me anymore and is harder to work around, especially in smaller cases.

the NH-D15 performs better than the H100

A watercooler would allow you to use high profile RAM, and they also tend to look a bit nicer.
