Hey Folks!

First let me mention my setup/parts

CPU: I7-3770k

Motherboard: Asus sabertooth Z77

GPU: Asus 780ti

PSU: Seasonic platinum 1000w

HDD/SSD: seagate(baracuda? not sure) 1tb / Samsung 830

RAM: Kingston hyperX T1 1600mhz

COOLER: Corsair H60 (old one)

PCI: Creative soundblaster Titanium pro

Might've missed something :P

Had my PC suddenly die on me the other day, woke up on saturday wanting to turn it on, and just nothing happened.

Tried all sorts of things, taking out ram sticks, putting them in one at a time and so on, tried different power cable from power source to psu, tried unplugging and replugging everything tried with nothing plugged in but motherboard power cables, also tried hitting the different bios reset buttons and mem ok button and even then the little jump cap thing besides the power led on the button of the motherboard. nothing works it's just dead it seems.

But then later that day i tried to fiddle a little with the power button cables, switch around the power and reset, and then tried powering on, it suddenly booted got in to reset the settings in the bios, as i was doing this it suddenly turned off again and was as dead as before.

Then on sunday i tried again and it booted, but with this time alot of different red led's one about the gpu was glowing, then one somewhat close to the cpu (don't remember exactly where) and then the one for the ram, they all lighted one at a time for a few seconds each and then it turned off again a few seconds after that.

Havent tried anything with it today though, other than trying to get an rma with asus going.

and i've made no progress since them, am i wrong in feeling that the motherboard is dead? or does it sound like something else is too?

please feel free to ask if something doesn't make sense :)

Hope one or more of you will be able to help with this.

Thanks!

Best regards - ThaSandus

The lights are a mobo diagnostics check I believe. If something was malfunctioning, the light would remain lit and the pc would not boot up. is there a clr cmos button on the back of the mobo? My asrock z68 was having a huge issue. I cleared that and it worked.

Might be a psu issue

Aright, I now tried ripping out everything and only connecting least possible things.

removed battery from motherboard aswell, and it now boots and i can get into bios but hadn't connected keyboard at then, had to reboot and with keyboard plugged in.

now the red Dram led light just stays lit both with one and two sticks of ram, and can't get to bios.?

This is most likely your PSU malfunctioning. Try to get a replacement PSU to test it ASAP as a faulty PSU is the most dangerous for these sensitive components

Shiet, ok got a corsair tx850 from another pc i have around connected it up and i still have the dram red light posting though.

i also noticed a slight hiss sound that is now gone which must have come from the other psu, as it is not there now.

Ok so switched to One ram stick in the A1 slot and it now boots to windows and seems to work fine.

so does This mean that my seasonic psu is dead or what? Since it has an eletric hiss sound to it? Though it did boot the pc if not for the dram light??

Tried launching a game to See IF it all worked, seems it does, but now my 780ti seems to Be having a weird kind of buzzing sound at high load percentage, wtf? Could This Be because of the corsair psu? Or might the seasonic psu have done something to it, IF it seems that it is what fucked it all op
