Right guys i was just wondering one thing with standard OEM boards (the standard ones that come in dell computers). i had a closer look at my board and there are soldier points for a extra usb jack and also audio. would i be able to add these ports of a old board and would it work. if you would like to know what i mean i will post pictures of the soldier points. :)

thanks guys /Alex

I wouldn't do it if I was you. How do you know that your chip set can handle the extra ports?

Also, Unless you're very good at soldering, you should realise that their is a possibly ruining your board,

Soldering on a motherboard is risky unless you have the proper equipment (a good temperature regulated iron, etc.) and/or have some experience.

Like the above poster said, those ports may be tied to an extra USB 2/3 chip that's not included, and/or involve other components. If you really need more USB ports, I'd recommend you just get a cheap external (powered) USB hub instead.
