I am working on optimizing my website (<25 hits/hour). I was wondering though, would it be worth it to move my MYSQL server to a dedicated box?

It is currently on an 8-core Opteron based system with 4GB RAM. I have an extra DELL Optiplex (3GB RAM, 1 hyper-threaded P4 processor) laying around i could move it to.

I wouldnt mind moving it over, data migration would take less than an hour. Is it worth it though?

in my opinion it isn't worth the time to set it up plus it will cost your more in electricity sndnit just another places where you can have issues

That will be fine until at least a few hundred hits and hour.

A friend and I was using shared hosting with 150 - 200 hits and hour, and it still loaded fast.
