Is it still worth it?

Go to solution Solved by VintageCake,

So should i get the 280 over the 7950 ?

Yeah, go for it.

Hey guys I am planning on getting a new GPU and I remember from watching the Battlefield 4 showcase at E3, and they were using dual 7950's in there system. I was just wondering if it is worth it to get a 7950 or get a newer GPU like the 760, 280x. I just plan on playing games at max, or close to max settings at 1080p and getting around 60 FPS. If the 7950 is still a viable option will it last around 8 months to a year at playing games at high settings.

the AMD r9 280 is just a re-badged 7950, and yes the r9 280 will do a fine job playing games on high settings

I thought it was a re-badged 7970? @TheRealSlimPasty Grab the R9 280X over the GTX760. The performance is way better.

IIRC the 280x is a rebadged 7970, but the 280 is the 7950
