DirectX error

This keeps popping up in the middle of the game people... I have noticed many have come across this issue... I couldn't get a proper answer though... So.... HELP guys !!!

typically in this situation system specs are very helpful.

 

also is this with one game,or with all games?

 

which game(s)?

 

have you tried switching the graphics card to a different pcie slot (if you have a different pcie slot or a physical graphics card)?

 

have you installed the graphics card drivers?

 

is the graphics card recognized in device manager?

-does device manager list an issues with said graphics card)?

Too high of an overclock or maybe corrupted drivers.

Does this issue persist when you properly remove the old drivers and re-install a fresh copy of them? Also, as AMD_Nemesis said, perhaps you have too high of an OC on your card. Systems specs would be very appreciated.

Well...

I have a 

i5 2400 (3.9Ghz) 

H100 cooler

P8Z68V-Pro Motherboard

4Gigs of 1333Mhz transcend memory

MSI GTX 660Ti at stock speeds.

 

It does this in Hitman Absolution and Crysis 3 stopped workin at the very end cut scene

 

The game works fine otherwise and I did try reinstalling the drivers.

From what I've read in my very brief time on google, it seems to be an issue specifically with Crysis 3. Not sure about Hitman, but I imagine if its similar in code to Crysis, its causing the same problem.
